FIELDS BROWN, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Fields Brown returns to Boulder after spending the last 20 years working at the club, collegiate, and semi-professional level. Brown was the 2014 Tennessee State Soccer Association Competitive Coach of the Year, received the 2019 United Soccer Coaches Regional Coach of the Year award and holds his USSF “A” Coaching License.
Fields was most recently the Club Director for Steamboat Soccer Club and served in an Elite Staff Coach role with the Colorado Rapids. Before joining Rapids, Brown held the role as Director of Soccer for Boulder County United, formerly FC Boulder, where he was previously the Director of Operations and a Director of Coaching, beginning his roles from July 2017-August 2021.
Originally from North Carolina, Fields graduated from the University of North Carolina- Wilmington with a degree in History. After completing school, he took a job as the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at Wofford College from 2005-2009, where he also obtained his Master of Arts in Teaching. Fields then took a focus on getting into club soccer full-time, moving to the Atlanta area and working with the Rockdale Youth Soccer Club. While in Atlanta he also was an Assistant at Georgia State University and was the Associate Head Coach of the Georgia Revolution of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), where they were the 2011 Southeast Conference Champions.
In the Fall of 2011, he moved on to Knoxville, Tennessee where he would work for four years at the Knoxville Football Club. Holding the roles of Technical Director and later the Director of Coaching, Brown was able to guide the ’99 Azzurri to the 2014 National President’s Cup Final, as well as the see the club grow exponentially in size and quality. In addition to his role at the club, Fields also was the Director of Operations for the University of Tennessee’s women’s soccer program (2011) and was the Head Coach of the Knoxville Lady Force of the Women’s Premier Soccer League in 2012 and 2013.
After 4 years in Tennessee, Fields moved to Colorado to take a role with Arsenal Colorado in Fort Collins, where he was an Assistant Director of Coaching, overseeing the u11-14 Girl’s program. It was after two years in Fort Collins that Fields moved to Boulder to take his aforementioned role there. Fields also has extensive experience at the Olympic Development Program platform as well, working at the state level in Tennessee and Colorado. Brown also has experience at the Region ODP level, as an Assistant Coach with the 2005 and 2009 West Region teams.
