ZAC GIBBENS, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Zac Gibbens was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma and lived across 9 separate states before landing in Colorado in 2013. In this time, Gibbens played youth-soccer across the county, but was most impacted by his stints at San Juan SC and Colorado Rush, where he won back to back State Cups including one MVP award. He then played High-School soccer at both Folsom High-School and Loveland High-School where he was awarded CHSAA All-Conference as a Senior.

Gibbens would continue his career collegiately at NCAA Division I schools Creighton University and the University of Dayton where he earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference along with Cum Laude honors with a B.A in Journalism. After a successful collegiate career, he would begin climbing the American soccer ladder with Fort Wayne Fever (PDL), 1790 Cincinnati (PASL-Pro), and the Colorado Switchbacks (USL Championship), while being continuously involved with Harpos FC where he was nominated for the Lamar Hunt Open Cup Lower Division Player of the Round in 2015.

Zac Gibbens has been coaching full time since 2008.  He coached men's college soccer at the NCAA Division I level for five years, including 18 months at his alma mater, the University of Dayton, a three-year stint at High Point University in North Carolina, and a six-month stint at the University of Richmond, who cut their program in November of 2012.  Gibbens also coached in the youth ranks throughout his time as a college coach, working with organizations like Metro FC (OH), Piedmont Triad Football Club (NC), and the Olympic Development Program (NC).  After the University of Richmond cut their program, he entered the youth soccer world on a full-time basis as a Director of Coaching for St. Vrain FC.  Gibbens coached for St. Vrain FC from January 2013 until January 2024, with St. Vrain FC becoming Real Colorado North for the last two years of his tenure. During this time, he earned his USSF B License along with USC Premier Diploma. Gibbens joined ALBION SC Boulder County in January of 2024 as the Chief Operating Officer.

Gibbens looks to instill Guardiola’s principles that “I won't tell you off if you misplace a pass, or miss a header that costs us a goal, as long as I know you are giving 100 per cent. I could forgive you any mistake, but I won't forgive you if you don't give your heart and soul to [the club]”. Zac now lives in Loveland, CO, with his wife, Jenna, and two sons, Daniel and Dawson.  He loves spending time outside with his family, playing footy (especially with Harpos FC), playing golf (especially his annual Mesquite golf trip), enjoying music, movies, video games, board games, and all things Colorado.  He is also a diehard Oklahoma State (Go Pokes!) and Liverpool (YNWA) fan.
